Jeremy Michael Descoteau was born July 4, 1974, in Iowa City, Iowa. Wherever he was, he enjoyed taking part in sports and interacting with people. To Jeremy, no person was a stranger. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America from the age of 8 and remained involved with Troop 68 until his death. He enjoyed working with the handicapped members of his troop and through his scouting affiliation became involved with the Arlington Special Olympics. Until becoming physically disabled in 2008, Jeremy was a truck driver. Jeremy loved being surrounded by family and friends. Although he was with us for such a short time, he made a difference in the lives of so many, especially his family. He is remembered most by his family for his heroic actions July 14, 2009, when he dived into his sister's swimming pool and saved the life of his 2-year-old niece, Maia.
