Board of Review - Guide to Requirements
Scouts must know the requirements listed below in bold type.  These will all be checked during all Boards of Review for a rank advancement Scout should be able to answer every one with confidence and without hesitation.  If any of them are missed, the Board of Review will end right then.  A repeat Board of Review can be scheduled after enough time for the missed item(s) to be learned.  Scouts should be prepared to discuss any other items from the BSA Requirements, especially any listed below.  The Scoutmaster's Conference MUST be signed off before the Board of Review.
 
Tenderfoot

Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout Slogan, Scout Motto.  Knots: square knot, tautline hitch , two half-hitches.   First aid for: cuts, blisters, minor burns, insect bites, snakebite, nosebleed.  Patrol name.  Everything about the Buddy System.  How to whip and fuse a rope.  Rules for Safe Hiking.
Second Class

ALL Tenderfoot Requirements.  Knots: ALL the Tenderfoot knots, timber hitch, clove hitch, bowline, sheet bend.  First aid: "hurry" cases (stopped breathing, serious bleeding, internal poisoning), object in eye, animal bite, puncture wounds, serious burns, heat exhaustion, shock.  Proper care and handling of knife, saw and axe.
First Class

ALL Tenderfoot Requirements.  ALL Second Class Requirements.  Knots: ALL the Tenderfoot knots, ALL the Second Class knots plus: Square lashings, shear lashings and diagonal lashings.  First aid: ALL Second Class First Aid Requirements plus: Five signs of a heart attack, CPR.   Proper care and handling of knife, saw and axe.  Finding directions without a compass.  Leadership Evaluation.
Star Scout

ALL Tenderfoot Requirements.  ALL Second Class Requirements.  ALL First Class Requirements.  Knots: ALL the Tenderfoot knots, ALL the Second Class knots.  ALL First Class knots.  First aid: ALL Second Class, First Class, emphasis on First Aid.  Service Project Review.  Merit Badge Review.  Leadership Evaluation.
Life Scout
